«Mare Nostrum», was taken during a period of two years (2011-2012) on the Mediterranean
coast of Almeria, Spain, And more exactly in the «Cabo de Gata» natural park. In this
area, there are still families subsisting on daily fishing using small boats that are
passed on from parents to children. Lately this ancestral lifestyle is being threatened by
falling prices and stiff competition from the big trawlers. Some families now use their
boats to offer excursions to tourists. This work is my tribute to this way of life. I’ve
tried to extract all the beauty that surrounds it.
