Devotion - Thaipusam in Singapore

Thaipusam is a Hindu festival celebrated by the Tamil devotees during the
Tamil month's full moon. Devotees engage in acts of devotion by piercing
the skin, tongues or cheeks with vel skewers. In Singapore, Hindu
devotees perform the piercing in the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple in the
early morning.
