Rural women from India, Jordan, and Africa who have never
been to school, are proving, despite patriarchal tradition, that
they can become professionals and break backward mindset
that confined them to the role of housewives.
through a simple 6 month training on the campus of Barefoot
College, India, they are learning by doing and are doing by
learning.
some women will become " solar engineers" and learn how to
solar electrify their own village or build a solar cooker; others
will preserve and develop traditional skills such as loom
weaving.
