Mexican rural schools are often in deplorable condition. The physical environments are not
conductive to a feeling of security or inspiration, an important component to learning.
In Mexico, 43% of the 15-year-old population did not complete elementary school. From
every 100 students in elementary school only 35 will finish it. The 8.5% of the population
have an undergraduate degree and 3% of the indigenes population complete at least one year
of college.
