This is a project about life at the mountain farms in Norway. Their struggle in life and fight against nature, isolation and each other. It`s about the old way of life disappearing. Many of the old farms are falling apart and will not to be replaced. The young people tend to dream about distant horizons and want to leave this way of life behind.
The project will feature the spectacular surroundings of this norwegian mountain region which unfortunately not is appreciated by these farmers. It is just part of everyday life. This body of work will finish in May when winter is gone and the spring may bring new hope. The last couple of images will deal with optimism for the future.

Ole Marius Jorgensen is a fine art photographer based in Oslo. He combines humor and a Norwegian brand of surrealism in his images and finds his inspiration in old folk tales and Nordic sagas. He likes to shoot in the sparsely populated mountains of the Northern regions. Many of his iconic images reflect the dreams, hopes or fears of his countrymen.
