Still-life photographs based on old masters paintings but showing 21st century fruits and vegetables from supermarket.
Born in 1959 in Poland. Studied at Warsaw College of Photography (Poland) and College of Photographic Arts in Ostrava (Czechoslovakia). In 1985 immigrated to Canada. Worked as a commercial photographer until mid-1990's, when he switched entirely to artistic projects. Published 3 books: Bread (1996), Toronto Parks (1997) and After Notman (2003). Exhibited in Canada, USA, Poland, UK, Germany, Finland and Uganda. His works may be found in many collections, including the McCord Museum of Canadian History and National Gallery of Canada. Additionally he teaches photography at Haliburton School of Arts, ON, Canada and gives workshops for schools.
