The photographs are a selection from a series entitled Nowica. Portraits of the Village, which portrays artistic community living in an isolated mountain village in the south-east of Poland.

Franek Strzeszewski is a freelance photographer based in London. He completed a course of Professional Photography Practice at London College of Communication. He also holds a Masters in Literature and Cultural Studies from the University of Warsaw. Franek's work ranges from portraiture, theatre and performance to social documentary and landscape photography. In the last years, Franek was commissioned for photographic assignments in the areas of portraiture, lifestyle, editorial, and documentary photography. He also initiated a number of personal projects. His photographs were shortlisted for the awards such as Magenta Flash Forward Emerging Photographers, British Journal of Photography International Photography Awards, London Photographic Awards (three times) and Foto8 Summershow.
