These are macro images of objects through water drops collaged with a portrait. In these images, I
explore the boundaries between unrelated objects (in this case animate and inanimate) in images using the
unconsciousness. I begin with a photograph which contains a lot of ambiguity (the macros of water drops) and add
another completely unrelated image. I then combine the images by staring at the first image until a theme or structure
begins to emerge and which allows for a meshing of the two structures.
For example, in 'Dorothy in Oz', the 'steam' from the coffee cup becomes the tornado from Oz. And here the structure
as a whole speaks to me as a face - the coffee cup acting as the nose and the 'tornado' leading up to the forehead
and 'eyes' - Dorothy.
