Preservation

Preservation is an admission of guilt in an impulsive world preoccupied with things on mass, competition and consumption. These self-acquired landscapes are an exploration of the perversity of mass consumption and the disenfranchised youth facing the consequences of our ills.

Each image was crafted through multiple exposures and digital imaging software.

Kara Baird is currently in her final year of a Master of Arts [Photomedia] degree at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Design and a BA in Communication [Media Arts & Production] from the University of Technology Sydney. Kara was recently awarded 2nd Prize in the 2009 Brunswick Street Gallery Art Prize and Runner Up in the 2009 International Aperture Awards amateur competition.
