These five images from my current Pinhole Beach Series were photographed using a high resolution, digital pinhole camera to emphasise the beauty and the mystery of people's interaction with the beach, water and associated sun environments. In each submitted image within this series a sense of continuous movement and isolation is ever present, as if to give off the impression that in modern life we are alone at one time or another, whether this is in a crowded room or elsewhere in society.
Fox Black is an Australian based photographer whose work deals largely with the capture of beautiful, surreal images from Australian beach life, and the land and sea beyond this.
Within each of these images an unsettled and isolated feel often exists in order to give off the impression that in modern life we are often forced to be alone at times, whether in we are in a crowded room or elsewhere in society.
All of the submitted works have been photographed using a high resolution, digital pinhole camera.
In 2006 Fox was selected as artist in residence with the Arthur Boyd Arts Trust in Bundanon, New South Wales. Works from this Residency have since that time been selected for inclusion in the 2008 VIVID Festival, Kodak Salons as held in 2007 and 2008 at the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne, as well as numerous other exhibitions.
