Yu Ju is a type of a traditional Chinese opera originated from about 17th century. My scheme was to illustrate the beauty of Yu Ju and to draw people?s attentions to this decline in this culture. As China was open to the world, even though the majority of Chinese have become richer compared to before, some of great culture in China were gradually ignored by young generations. The young generations were driven to survive in a competitive westernized society. Hip-pop rappers, Hollywood stars were pursued by the young. In the photographs, In Yu Ju- Chinese traditional opera 1, I endeavored to capture the relationship between the actor and the crowd in a small village. In Yu Ju- Chinese traditional opera 2, I attempted to capture the subtle relationship between the actor on the right and the actor on the left. In Yu Ju- Chinese traditional opera 3, I was fascinated by the process of dressing up.
