The Breast Cancer Project

A series of photographs of breast cancer survivors. The one of Monique with the scarf, is not manipulated digitally, and expresses the idea that you must open your eyes to breast cancer. If you look at this photo from far, it looks like the eyes are closed. When you zoom in, the eyes will open.

Michele Taras is an award-winning photographer from Canada. Her work has been published in Photo Life, Chloe, Harry Rosen Magazine and others. Taras is well known for her fund raising efforts through her photography which to date has raised over $50 000.00 for various charities. Mainly through her breast cancer survivor portraits and the calendars for sale for SickKids hospital.
