That photographs serie show some of the struggling portuguese youth... Born in the 80's, they have potencial in many distinct areas, but they live the same society problems that affect this country. The corruption is everywere, and those who are good professionals or they have talent are usually unemployed! With other big problems, the heritage to this generation is not very favorable but they still fight...others dont.

Has initiated his journey as a Photography Student in Superior Artistic School at Porto (ESAP), but has quitted after a wile to become a Sports Photojournalist. Was a regular collaborator to the Daily National Sports Newspaper â??A Bolaâ??, to the already extinguished magazine â??Superfoot Magazineâ??, to the french magazine Football Pro Africa, and to the generalist Luxembourg newspaper â??La Voixâ??. He is the photographer of the portuguese soccer magazine â??Futebolistaâ?? and also collaborates with the american sports agency US Presswire. Besides Sports Photography, Hugo regularly works to the French agency Dalle, as a concert / music photographer.
Besides photojournalism, Hugo reviews himself and his work in a more rational and conceptual photography with doses of minimalist surrealism, normally in experimental black and white pictures.
Hugo Santos has already been internationally awarded in: Austria (Trierenberg), Paris (PX3) and USA (International Photography Awards). He is the founder and Director of XXV PHOTOS.
