These images illustrate the consequence of many years of drought in Australia.

A freelance photojournalist for two years Rodney Dekker has won a number of awards and grants and his images have been published in major Australian newspaper and magazines. He photographs fresh, eye-catching and dramatic documentary stories of people and place that are used for editorial, stock and corporate clients.

His photos have been published in The Age, Australian Geographic, Outback magazine, The Big Issue and in publications for Bicycle Victoria, Friends of the Earth and The Red Cross. He was a finalist of the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize 2007 and came first in Ricoh/Capture Exposed Challenge Competition 2007, My Favorate Travel Photo Exhibition 2006 and the Friends of the Earth International Photography Competition 2006 & 07.

Rodney received two grants for his first solo exhibition held in 2006, Protest Environment Travel. He has secured a grant from the SEARCH Foundation for a documentary project commencing in 2008 to photograph the effect of sea level rise on island communities.

He holds a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science and is completing a Masters Degree in Environmental Analysis and International Development.
