Nothing here has fallen. The leaves are still on the branch, close overhead, and at that distance they stop reading as leaves and start reading as weather.

I wasn't after a record of the season. I wanted the moment before it goes, when everything is red and nothing has let go yet. It stays up there for as long as I keep looking.

Born in Tochigi, Japan. Graduated from the Junior College of Art and Design, Musashino Art University. Photographic artist and creative director, based in Tokyo.

The work runs in two streams. A monochrome documentary series built on the old Japanese sense that everything holds a spirit, and color work that brings back the color of memory through a scheme of his own. Light reaching into shadow, the sense of someone having been there, air and the passage of time. He is after the truth of things that sits under those moments.
