Habitats are not fixed—they continuously shift through the interplay of water, land, and human presence.

This series observes coastal environments from an aerial perspective, where boundaries between sea, land, and settlement remain in constant transition. Structures, reefs, and shorelines form a landscape that resists stability and definition. Rather than depicting a fixed place, the images reveal a condition of adaptation, where habitation and environment continuously reshape one another.

Pi-Lin Liu is a Taiwanese artist working with photography and handcrafted platinum-palladium printing. Guided by The Quiet Axis of Earth, her practice explores time as a condition of becoming through walking, observation, and the material presence of the photographic print. Through PHOLENS Photography & Art and WhiteCrow78 Studio, she integrates digital image-making with handcrafted platinum-palladium printing as a unified artistic practice. Her photographs invite viewers to slow their pace of looking and experience the quiet rhythms through which the world continually unfolds.
