One Continuous Line looks at the Gateway Arch through close views of its steel surface: curves, edges, planes, and reflections. The Arch was built as a monument to St. Louis’s role in westward expansion, but it is often seen from a distance as a symbol. I photographed it up close, where its familiar shape starts to become texture, scale, and abstraction.
