The simplicity of this portrait draws attention to one eye, and that's all that is needed. This magnificent Lusitano stallion reveals a bright eye that becomes the focal point of the image. Against the white and serene setting, subtle details stand out. Catching a perfect moment like this always makes my heart sing a little.
The photograph was taken at the stallion's stud in Portugal, home of the Lusitano horses, an ancient breed. Owner of the horse: Herdade do Pinheiro in Portugal

As a self-taught artist, I bring instinct as well as experience to my work— years spent working with horses at an international level have given me an intimate understanding of their behaviour, character, and unique energy.
I now observe and photograph horses from a more intentional and visual perspective. My experience allows me to connect with them in a way that results in strong portraits that are both intimate and emotionally resonant. I also strive to capture not only the quiet beauty of the horse, but also moments of powerful and surreal movement.
