On my first visit the wind was so fierce, we waited nearly three hours for a sunset that never came, then hid behind a dune to escape the gale. A year later, every story I heard spoke of grey skies and roaring wind, yet I still wanted to see this rock's face in the evening glow. Once, on a rare clear evening, I drove straight to the coast. This time the wind had softened. Sitting on the dune that once sheltered us, I opened a long exposure and watched the arch slowly turn pink and orange. Some beauty must be waited for, like this rock, standing in the sea for the few evenings the sky glows.
