Existence is always in a state of flux, though these changes are not always immediately visible. Land and water, stillness and movement, together form an ever-changing state of existence.

Through walking, time becomes perceptible; through seeing, subtle transformations gradually reveal themselves.

Unstable Presence reflects this condition. These photographs do not seek to define the world, but remain within its ongoing process of becoming.

Pi-Lin Liu is a Taiwanese artist working with photography and handcrafted platinum-palladium printing. Guided by The Quiet Axis of Earth, her practice explores time as a condition of becoming through walking, observation, and the material presence of the photographic print. Through PHOLENS Photography & Art and WhiteCrow78 Studio, she integrates digital image-making with handcrafted platinum-palladium printing as a unified artistic practice. Her photographs invite viewers to slow their pace of looking and experience the quiet rhythms through which the world continually unfolds.
