The Legend of the Wawel Dragon is not a book about a dragon, but about how myths continue to shape contemporary society. Using photographs made in Kraków, the book follows five chapters—Calm, Terror, The Brave, Trick and Victory—to explore a universal narrative found across cultures. The dragon itself is not important; what matters is the role it plays. The project asks whether ancient mythological structures still influence how we perceive danger, hope and collective experience.

Grzegorz Wójcik born in 1979 is a freelance Polish photographer. Recently devoted to long-term photojournalism projects which focus on human relations. His photographic works have been published in the local press and on national TV as well.
He is a member of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) and the Polish Sports Writers Association.

Awards Grzegorz Wójcik is also an award-winning photographer holding medals of Prix De La Photographie Paris and Tokyo International Foto Awards. He also received honorable mentions among others at International Photography Awards, Monochrome Awards and Px3.
