With XRAY#0004 I rethink the potentials of photographic templates: Can an autonomous object arise from repeating or transforming image building blocks? What meaning do abstraction, transformation, and context-shifting acquire in my photographic work? Layering and the digital merging of independent, transparent templates in a serial scan yield a new, speculative visual reality. Like an X-ray fluoroscopy of a container, diverse layers reveal themselves and connect in a fresh context. A generative, think-open composition emerges, linking various initial states; the original and the fantasy merge.

Ronald Stoecker

born 1954 in Essen, initially studied and graduated as PhD in Biology and Chemistry, after retirement lives and works now as freelance artist in Essen, Germany using digital and analogue photography as well as scanning- and print techniques and mixed media formats, between 2015-2021 studied photography and media art at freie Akademie der bildenden Künste in Essen (fadbk, HBK) in photography and media – graduated as master student in 2021
