I’ve been working with all kinds of flowers for quite some time now. For studio projects, however, I’ve always gone to the flower shop and bought the most unique and exotic flowers I could find.
This spring, I had to mow one of my large meadows, and as a byproduct, I ended up with a huge amount of buttercups. So I brought them into my studio and photographed them, and turned it into a series featuring other wildflowers, all from my garden. They’d been there for years, but this was the first time I’d really seen them with fresh eyes and felt felt they were worthy of being photographed.
