At the edge of night, a man stands suspended between the safety of home and the pull of the unknown. A child illuminated by a cluster of red balloons waits in the garden, while a deer emerges from the darkness like a silent witness. A strip of fabric escapes through the window, connecting interior and exterior, memory and desire. Neither dream nor reality, the scene becomes a threshold where longing takes form. The photograph explores the fragile moment before a choice is made—the instant when curiosity, fear, and possibility coexist.

Hüseyin Abdik (b. 1991, Istanbul, Türkiye) is a photographer and visual artist whose practice explores memory, identity, fear, and the psychological landscapes that shape contemporary life. Working between documentary and constructed image-making, he investigates the tension between lived experience and imagined realities through cinematic visual narratives.
