The project explores memory distortions through archive photographs of domestic celebrations in the USSR. The book is based on vernacular archive dating 1960-2000s. Memory can no longer be considered reliable, as it is significantly distorted by the phenomenon of memory reconsolidation, contaminated by propaganda, and filled with false AI artifacts. The book includes pages from original ‘The Book of Tasty and Healthy Food’ (1963). Some Soviet dishes were reconstructed using photogrammetry.

Anatoly Suzdaltsev is a visual artist. Born in 1980 in the Southern Urals, he is based in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and studies at Fotografika Academy.

His practice focuses on urban photography, vernacular archives, and the nonhuman. Anatoly explores spaces through analogue photography and photogrammetry, AI, 3D, other methods of computational photography.

He is interested in the boundaries between memory and constructed reality. He primarily works through the photobook format, creating works with multiple layers of meaning that invite readers to uncover hidden connections and interpretations.
