Portrait of a lioness in dappled afternoon sunlight while she is watching her cubs playing in the distance. The dappled spotlight results from the sun rays filtering through the savanna grassland and helps reveal the textures of the subject with a chiaroscuro look. Captured in the Selinda Game Reserve, Botswana.

Amateur nature photographer since 2009, and self-learner in digital photography, I am interested in capturing behaviour, postures, shapes and patterns of the web of life with the intention to create a sense of interconnectedness with our natural environment.
I have been inspired by impressionist master painters like Cézanne and Monet) and the works of Morris Graves (mystical painter of nature from the Pacific Northwest of the US), I developed a fascination for complex lighting and composition.
