Qurayyah, Saudi Arabia, is one of the largest power complexes in the world. The combined capacity of its facilities supply electricity across the Eastern Province. The pylons carrying that load are standard lattice steel towers, their geometry determined entirely by structural and electrical engineering requirements with a wide base, narrowing waist and splayed double-circuit arms. Nothing in their form is arbitrary or decorative. Saudi Arabia has committed to generating half its electricity from renewables by 2030. The infrastructure that will carry that transition looks exactly like this.
German/Australian documentary and fine art photographer whose work explores landscape, culture, industry, and human experience through photography and mixed media approaches. Her practice combines documentary realism with artistic experimentation, including alternative photographic processes and installation-based presentation.
