Yamiri is my father’s hometown. In its quiet hours, the village holds its position. Lights remain on, but little moves. Bus stops, houses, and roads stay in place, as if waiting for something that no longer comes.

Shot on analog film, these images observe light across empty spaces. Windows glow. Roads fall into darkness. Interiors remain open, yet unoccupied. Time settles within each frame.

The figure at the bus stop is my father, present as a witness in this still landscape. The structures remain, but what they were built for no longer returns.

Choi Jin-Hyeong is a Korean photographer working with both digital and analog film. His work focuses on simple structures, space, and quiet scenes, often reducing elements to their minimum. Influenced by his studies in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Inha University, he approaches photography in a structured and controlled way. He mainly works on landscapes and built environments where activity has faded but traces remain. He is a Canon Korea Good Creator and has received recognition at TIFA and IPA.
