In a shipwreck, the objects that float to the surface are those with a density lower than water. In a journey beyond the visible, in the wreck of separation from children, what remains beyond pain, grief, anger, nostalgia? What is the desperate bond, no longer physical, but emotional, that is restored to us? In the photographic project SURVIVORS, the objects that are "saved" are not the subjects of the images but become the witnesses of this broken bond; what predominates is lack, an absence devoid of a landing place in a non-place, in a timeless time, in a space without space.
