I work with historical motifs because they carry a deeper meaning. Every artistic style reflects the ideas of its time, so I don’t want to imitate it without my own voice. History forms the roots of who we are. Science speaks of DNA and trauma passed through generations, reminding us of what we carry within. Our family stories reveal the strength of our ancestors and shape us today. This image holds what was — and opens a quiet doorway to the future through the portrait of a young girl.

I started to work as a professional photographer just prior to enrolling to study the history of art at Charles’ University in Prague. I have received numerous awards for my work, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. As my motto, I have adopted the impressionist painter Renoir’s words “There are too many unpleasant things in life as it is without creating still more of them“
