After ten days of torrential downpours and catastrophic flooding in the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces, the rains just kept coming, forcing wildlife to flee habitat and seek safety at higher elevations. Rivers like Letaba, Sabie, Olifants, Crocodile and the Sands broke their banks, washing away roads, bridges, entire villages and anything within the raging waters grasp. Pictured, is a group of wildlife huddled on a tarmac for safety, warmth and a spot to dry off from the nights rains. What they don't know or see, is a pride of lions watching them from the tree line directly behind the apron.
