Although Taiwan is surrounded by the sea, surfing has only recently become popular. The surfing event for the 2026 Asian Games will be held in Nagoya, Japan in September. Taiwan will send a national team to participate in this sport. Many top Taiwanese surfers are participating in the competition, and the selection process is expected to be completed in March 2026.
