Hidden inside a collapsing Alpine glacier, this ice cave existed for only a single winter. Its unusual south-facing orientation and deep blue interior defied expectations. After countless visits, day and night, I captured the moment when the last light of the setting new moon ignited distant peaks, while freshly broken ice formed the foreground. A fragile architecture shaped by melt, gravity and time - now gone.
