The 'Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias' in Valencia is a breathtaking complex of modern buildings constructed between 1996 and 2009. One of the buildings is the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, the opera house. This pearl of modern architecture soon became one of the main tourist attractions of Valencia and has been photographed many many times. I tried to find an original way to photograph the opera house. After dark, from a low camera position I used a shutter speed of 30 seconds to make this picture.
