Line 801, connecting Bucharest to Oltenița, is one of Romania’s most neglected railway routes. Despite the decaying infrastructure, hundreds rely on it daily for work, school, or basic errands. Stations are abandoned, crossings unsafe, and signs nearly erased by time. Yet the surrounding communities continue to move to the slow rhythm of the train, in a landscape suspended between past and present. This series documents routine, waiting, fragility, and the resilience of life along the railway.
