Unheard Voices

“Unheard Voices” is a photographic exploration of the silent struggles endured by victims of Myanmar’s ongoing civil war. This project sheds light on untold stories of resilience and loss in conflict zones, where voices are too often silenced by violence and displacement. Through intimate portraits and personal narratives, it reveals the profound impact of war on individuals and communities caught in the margins. By bearing witness to their experiences, this work seeks not only to document, but to give presence to those rendered invisible—offering a platform for their voices to be heard.

ChinHo Shin, PhD in neuroscience from KIST, is a documentary photographer and co-founder of an international NGO. Since 2007, he has documented lives affected by exclusion and conflict, holding multiple solo exhibitions in South Korea. His work has received recognition in several international photography competitions. He now focuses on stories from Mumbai's Kamathipura, Myanmar’s war zones, and India’s untouchables.
