This image was taken while researching/initiating a project on the Causse d'Aumelas, using a recurring process in my work that can be found in my series "Carving the night out", which consists of suggesting shapes and playing on strong contrasts as well as marked disproportions between black and white. While it didn't feet the project I was researching on, it opened another path, where I played with different presets building a series based on this single image.
Through my photography practice, I seek to capture the environment or the moment that moves me, by their ephemeral beauty and their impermanence. Although totally urban, after many years of practicing photography during travels and urban strolls, I turned to landscape photography, first coastal and then mountain. This change was accompanied by a return to film photography in full and medium format, both in color and black and white. As I move towards documentary photography, I maintain a more poetic than didactic approach, while trying to instill a more accomplished narrative style.
