MAHIKAN

“MAHIKAN” means “WOLF” in Cree Language (Native American Indians).

Far North Canada in winter, after a long quest in traditional sleds along frozen rivers and forests, under extreme cold temperatures, the reward came on the last afternoon of the expedition, when we spotted a pack of 9 Grey Wolves far away through binoculars. After going outside of our sleds, they came to us and surrounded us at a distance of a few meters only.

Never photographed with such proximity, without hide or baits, you can fully feel the fascinating power of this wild animal and the wilderness of Far North Canada.

Polish-American, living now in France, professional wildlife photographer and great traveler, multi-awarded in different international photography contests, I am travelling regularly all over the world with my husband, trying to capture the wonders and the beauties, but also the fragility of our Planet. In nature, and especially in arctic and cold places, this is where I like to be, and this is where I can express my creativity. Each reportage is always beginning by a careful preparation and study of the species to photograph, their behaviors and places to explore. This is when the dream begin

Awards Multi awarded at several international photography contests since more than 10 years.
