Baazdar (Falconer)

At Hola Mohalla in Anandpur Sahib, India some Nihang Sikhs carry a baaz (falcon) on their hands..a powerful symbol of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Guru of the Sikhs. The baaz, his constant companion, represents sovereignty, fearlessness and spiritual sharpness. For the Nihangs holding the baaz is not just tradition it’s a living tribute to the Guru’s legacy, reflecting his vision.

Capturing emotions is one the most important parts of my work. I feel strongly about making photographs that i can connect with. Even though it is the emotions of my subjects that i am documenting, I find a reflection of myself in them. My love for the unexpected and candid moments gives me the ability to find visual order within the chaos of the world and an unparalleled creative vision. I love creatively capturing the weird and wonderful fleeting moments as they unfold in front of my eyes. Photography is the love of my life and traveling is like blood in my veins.
