The Kanchanaburi paper mill is Thailand's first full-production bamboo-based paper factory since 1933. It was built with German technology and knowledge, and all the machines were imported from Germany. Thereafter, Thailand can then begin its paper production process. The German know-how transfer went as far as the first step of transporting bamboo along the River Kwai, the fermentation process, and the transportation of the paper. The paper mill structure which was influenced by modern European architecture, is still in good condition historical building til now.
