"Surfaces of the soul" is a visual meditation on the fluid, often fragmented nature of identity. Shot through the distorting medium of water, these portraits intentionally resist clarity , evoking a psychological space where emotion , memory and self perception dissolve into abstraction. In a time of constant self-curation and filtered identity, this work turns inward, offering not polished representations but vulnerable reflections. The project invites the viewer to confront ambiguity, discomfort, and emotional fragmentation not as flaws,but as fundamental truths of being human.

My name is Alexandros Othonos ( Alex ) . I was born in 1998 in Greece in the city of Patras. My passion and my love for photography came into my life four years ago completely by accident when I lived in Athens , my friend was studying photography . I was trying to help her with her work and by some magical way I was drawn to it. I realised that photography was the only thing I loved doing . Since then I work on photography based on people in my own way , using my imagination .

Awards I have won awards such as sony world photography awards 2023 Cyprus , Greece , Bulgaria and North Macedonia regional awards shortlist. I have won the 1st place Amateur Fine art in Tokyo International Photography awards and many more .
