Silent Light

This series captures a coming-of-age moment for a young girl of Taiwan’s Indigenous Atayal people, living with a developmental condition. Though limited in language, she perceives the world with an angelic sensitivity. For her 25th rite, her grandmother dresses her in a traditional garment long kept in silence. Their gestures and gaze become a quiet ritual—one that revives cultural memory, affirms identity, and honors ancestral connection beyond words.
