I volunteer at the Santa Cruz SPCA near my home photographing the dogs to help them find their forever homes. On this day they were hosting an Adopt-A-Pet day, and I was waiting for an adoption to finish processing so that I could photograph the adopters with their new pet. Meanwhile a volunteer was taking this handsome boy, Rooster, for a walk. He had such a presence that I couldn't resist taking his photograph while he walked past me. I think this portrait captures his soulful eyes and his sweet and loving personality.
