While visiting my friend’s village in Taiwan, I witnessed the Jia-Chen Year King Boat Ceremony, held once every twelve years at Haiguo Temple. As the ceremonial boat burned and drifted out to sea, villagers offered prayers for peace and protection. This series captures a powerful moment of collective faith and cultural heritage — a rare Taoist ritual where fire, water, and devotion converge in a timeless spiritual journey.
