A self-portrait recorded at home during the rage of the California wildfires; the shelter-in-place emergency order at the zenith of Covid-19 global pandemic; and the Monkey-Pox virus outbreak in San Francisco. Finally, an enduring homage to Man Ray
I began my photography career with the Diana camera my grandmother gifted me as a young girl. Whether recording family portraits reflected from the hubcaps of our Volkswagen Beetle family car to formal and candid portraits of dignitaries, refugees, or actors capturing human essence has been and remains my clarion call. My daily discipline of toting my camera around with me has honed my skills in the decisive moment. This art of capturing those fleeting, unscheduled moments in the liminal spaces of daily life has engendered my life in visual satori and personal, human enrichment.
