With a total population estimated at around 6500, the black rhino is considered the most critically endangered species in the wild. We had the pleasure of meeting these magnificent creatures in Etosha National Park, one of the few places where they can roam and feel relatively safe from persecution. Naturally solitary, short-sighted and easily agitated, the black rhino is considered both aggressive and dangerous. I just see it as a creature from another world that happens to roam our planet and amuse us with its presence.
