“The cemetery of Full General Chen Chi-Tang” was established in 1954 by the R.O.C. government on Danfeng Mountain in Beitou. Chen is one of the great warlords during the Chinese Civil War and is known as “the Heavenly King of the South.”
The cemetery featured a blend of Chinese and Western styles, including Chinese stone carvings and a European fountain. In 1992, some of Chen’s descendants destroyed the cemetery for land sale and reinterred his remains in China to be with his first wife.
Since then, this place has been abandoned, with overgrown plants causing darkness and mosquitoes.
