This is a lake of glacial origin in Val D'Aosta Italy that occupies a cavity resulting from the erosion of a glacier. It rapresent a deformation of the Alpine crust due to the convergence of the great continental plates Europe and Africa, responsible for the formation of the Alps. On clear days in its quite waters is reflected Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe
