Izunuma is one of the best places in Japan to watch migratory birds, with tens of thousands of geese flying over the area in winter.
The “flight of the geese” in the early morning of winter is particularly spectacular.
This is because geese migrate to the surrounding rice paddies to feed, and when the sunrise coincides with their migration, it is a fantastic sight.
It is a precious moment when one can feel the life of birds living in harmony with nature.
I have visited this place many times over the years and have been fortunate enough to capture this wonderful scene.
