The Brazilian name of this beautiful Capped Heron is ‘Garça-real’ , meaning Royal Heron. Comes breeding time, their normally completely white plumage changes to intensive yellow. Capped Herons are one of the most beautiful herons that I have seen in many years of bird watching, and still, I can’t take my eyes of them whenever I see them.

The broad diversity and beauty of nature is breathtaking if you allow yourself to dive into it. For me, it is even some form of meditation. And many times, it’s the little details like color combinations, feather patterns that make smile broadly.
